Terms and Conditions
In plain words.

Last updated 11 September 2026

In short: Run for the Mind is a community run (3K, 5K and 10K), not a competitive race. You take part at your own risk, the entry fee is non-refundable, and the organisers may change the route or timings, or cancel the event, if safety or permissions require it.

1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to anyone who registers for, donates to, volunteers for or takes part in Run for the Mind (the “event”) through this website. The event is organised by the Run for the Mind organising committee (“we”, “us”, “the organisers”). By registering, donating or volunteering you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

2. The event

  • A community run and walk with three distances (3 km, 5 km and 10 km) in Mak BTR on Saturday 17 October 2026, marking World Mental Health Day. Flag-off (times to be announced) is from a start point to be announced.
  • It is a participation event. There is no chip timing, no ranking and no prize money. Every finisher receives a medal and a certificate.
  • We may change the route, start time, venue or programme, or postpone or cancel the event, where weather, safety, medical advice, permissions or circumstances beyond our control require it. We will tell registered participants by email as early as we can. Entry fees are not refunded in these cases (see the Cancellation and Refund Policy).

3. Who can take part

  • The event is open to all ages. Anyone under 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the child before, during and after the event. Children under 12 should be accompanied on the route.
  • You confirm that you are physically fit to walk or run the distance you choose. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or are in any doubt, please check with a doctor before registering.
  • We may refuse or cancel a registration if the details given are false or incomplete, or if participation would be unsafe.

4. Registration and entry fee

  • Registration is through the form on this website. You must give your correct name, date of birth, mobile number and email address, and choose a distance (3K, 5K or 10K). One registration per person. You can change your distance by email until kit collection; moving to a longer distance means paying the difference, and moving to a shorter one is not refunded.
  • The entry fee is ₹899 for the 3K, ₹999 for the 5K or ₹1,199 for the 10K per person, inclusive of all taxes. It covers the run T-shirt, bib, finisher’s medal and certificate, and hydration on the route and at the finish. Any surplus goes towards children’s education and community service in Mak BTR.
  • Your place is confirmed only when the entry fee has been received. Until then your registration is held as “pending payment” and may be released.
  • A group registration (2 to 20 people) is made by one contact person, who chooses a distance for each member, confirms that every member has agreed to these terms and consents to their details being submitted, and who pays the total for the group in one payment.
  • Registrations close when places are full or on the date we announce, whichever is earlier.

5. Payment

  • Online payments are processed by Razorpay in Indian rupees (INR). Card, bank and UPI details are entered on Razorpay’s secure pages and are never seen or stored by us.
  • A payment confirmation and receipt are emailed to the address you registered with. Keep the registration reference and payment ID for your records.
  • The entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. See the Cancellation and Refund Policy.

6. Bib, T-shirt and kit collection

  • Nothing is posted. Your bib and T-shirt are collected in person. Details are in our Shipping and Delivery Policy.
  • Bring your registration reference (or the QR code from your receipt email) and a photo ID. T-shirt sizes are subject to availability.
  • Your bib must be worn visibly on the front during the run. Bibs are personal and must not be given to anyone else.

7. Taking part safely

  • You take part at your own risk. Walking or running on public roads carries inherent risks, including from traffic, weather and terrain.
  • Follow the instructions of marshals, volunteers, police and medical staff at all times, and keep to the marked route.
  • Basic first aid will be available. In an emergency we may contact the emergency contact you gave us and share relevant details with medical responders.
  • Bicycles, scooters, vehicles and pets are not allowed on the route unless we say otherwise. Prams are welcome at the back of the field.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, the organisers, partners, sponsors and volunteers are not liable for any injury, loss or damage suffered while travelling to, taking part in or leaving the event, except where caused by our negligence.

8. Photography and filming

The event will be photographed and filmed. By taking part you allow us to use photographs and video that include you, without payment, on this website, on social media and in material promoting the event and the causes it supports. If you would prefer not to appear, tell a photographer on the day or email us and we will remove the image where we reasonably can.

9. Donations

Donations made through this website are voluntary and go towards running the event, children’s education and community service in Mak BTR. Donations are non-refundable. A receipt is emailed for every donation. Unless we say so on the donation page, donations are not eligible for a tax-exemption certificate.

10. Behaviour

Please treat other participants, volunteers, residents and staff with respect. We may remove anyone who behaves in a way that is unsafe, abusive or damaging to the event, without a refund.

11. Communications

We will email you (and, if enabled, message you on WhatsApp) about your registration, payment, kit collection and the run itself, including reminders before the event. These are part of taking part. You can ask us to stop sending anything else at any time.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example if the programme changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be sent to registered participants by email.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions about them can be sent to the organisers. Full contact details are on the Contact Us page.
